fuschia

I finished this Featherweight Cardigan, in a Malabrigo Lace, last fall but wasn't able to wear it much. Being wool, even lightweight, it was too warm to be worn in the Caribbean and the fit was just right that I couldn't wear a long sleeve shirt underneath very comfortably when we were off island over the holidays. But I am starting to pack for our summer in the north where it will be so much cooler. I'll be able to wear it with a tank or camisole underneath.

The pattern was easy enough, though I found the humidity made the wool shrink some, so when I had to pull out stitches the yarn was a little felted together. The yarn is so soft and so delicate and comes in so many fun colors it was hard to decide which. I also knitted with two different but very similar colored skeins, which if you were to look closely at the arms there is a distinct line between the variegated and solid colored knitting. Anyway not enough to keep me from wearing it.

The silk flower brooch was made by my mom for my sister's wedding last fall. Works perfectly with the bright pink.

and lastly....the rains have returned and the girls are playing with their umbrellas on the balcony.
