two

Thankfully two-year olds do not realize that birthday's are supposed to be different than all the other days of the year.  I wasn't sure we'd have the energy (after a whirlwind trip to New York City) or the time (with a regatta and broken oven) to celebrate as an older child might want us to. But we had the energy and the oven wasn't really broken so we were able to at least make a cake - texas sheet cake and  buy some ice-cream from the store. He got hugs and kisses and presents from Nana and Grampy that morning. Hugs, kisses and presents from us in the afternoon. I think that is all this easy-going 2 year old needed on his big day.
