Halloween

Princess and the headless horseman - or scary pumpkin head, depending on when you ask him

The ballerina. She doesn't like to get too dressed up.
Headless horseman, with his head, and not his mask

Halloween started on Friday night with a school party. The potluck was really good - totally kid friendly with surprisingly fresh and healthy food. Crafts for the kids and a little trick or treating in the classrooms, which we didn't stay for, only because it was late and the end of a long week. But a real nice community event. Monday at school the kids had a Halloween parade and sing-a-long with some great songs: ask M to sing "when ghosts and goblins come to town..." Then Halloween night we hosted our friends to a Halloween dinner at our place. The house was decorated with pumpkins, owls, bats, skull and crossbones and ravens on the windows. But the highlight of the evening was our spooky night swim. After dark, we tossed a bunch of chem-lights into the pool and the kids went swimming for them. Ton of fun and a good alternative to trick-or-treating (which there isn't much of on the island anyway.)
