why we've been out of school

One tropical depression and one tropical storm have formed a few hundred miles north of our location creating some very wet and windy weather for us. As promised by the forcasters, spectacular wind, waves and lightening have been happening. Flash flood warnings are in effect and power is spotty and those are the main reasons for no school. Too dangerous to be on the roads I guess and the school is at the bottom of a hill with a culvert behind it. Its a Northwest "snow day".

I tried in vain to get a good lightening shot the other night all I got was the sky lit up like daylight.
So we've been baking carrot cake.
