Last Tuesday evening, back in the Northwest, we helped Grampy cast a seine from the beach. We had high hopes of repeating a big catch he had earlier in the month. However, after two casts at a slack tide, we came up nearly empty handed. Six smelt among the hundreds of shiners. The fish weren't too lucky either: we ate all six of them for breakfast.
