experimenting

This weekend's full moon an hour or so after it rose. Different shutter speeds and apertures but still not quite right. I couldn't get both the clouds and the moon's surface without overexposing the moon or underexposing the clouds. Anyway I took many many shots of this moon. I love digital cameras. For me they have taken some of the mystery out of photography; made the art more approachable. I have loads of crappy pictures from my 20's. They satisfactorily document where I had been and what I was up to but I can tell the person behind the camera was not willing to risk taking the shots. I was woefully conservative with my picture taking to the point I was so tired of crappy photos that I stopped carrying a camera for several years. Digitals have allowed me to experiment freely and a natural exension of that is that I have begun to understand shutter speeds, aperture settings and the like. I still have too many crappy pictures but now I can just DELETE.

  1. What a nice belt Cormac. Nana and Grampy are proud of you. You must have practiced very hard.
