Jewels of water

Our September has been beautiful. Indian summer at its best with warm days and cool evenings. But the chill and wet are starting to set in. Some pictures from our garden. I remind you this is our first ever vegetable garden and its living proof that it is OK to plant some vegetables in August. These are shots of our broccoli leaves. Of all the plants these are the only ones I am not sure will make it through the coming season. They take awhile to bloom and I am afraid the wind will knock them over before that happens. The lettuce, rainbow chard, peas, spinach and very soon the beets can be harvested.
C said the water drops looked like jewels as he sipped them off the leaf.
