B's school put on a holiday performance of Mother Goose's Christmas. It was a mixture of Mother Goose rhymes and the 12 days of Christmas. B was a Christmas tree - with a star on her head. She and her fellow Christmas trees came out reciting: Mary Mary ho ho ho how does your Christmas tree grow? With silver bells and shiny shells and presents all in a row.
Last night was Miracle on Main Street. Main Street in downtown Charlotte Amalie was closed down to car traffic and all the shops were open. A gorgeous night; cool and windy. We were a little early but the steel drum bands were beginning to warm up, the shop owners had their champagne flowing and treats out. On the waterfront there was a boat parade and Santa was rumored to be around though we did not see him. Very festive and the first real sign of Christmas for us!
