Papaya Lime sorbet made from a recipe in The Perfect Scoop by David Lebovitz. ( A lovely birthday present) Both papayas and lime grow naturally here, so I thought it was a fitting place to start. I don't care much for papaya but I figured I should get around that mental hurdle since they are so easy to come by. We have a papaya tree growing near the parking lot in our complex (along with banana, lime and I think a mango tree) but I haven't figured out how to get to them. They grow very close to the top of the tree, much like a coconut. The combo of papaya and lime is very nice and sorbet is the perfect dessert (or mid-day snack in this case) for the heat.
