The heat wave in our area means that there is also a burn ban: no beachfires, no patio fires, no fires period, that is unless you heat your home with a fireplace. But who needs to heat their home during a heat wave? It's in place to control air quality and to prevent dry trees and homes from getting torched. However there is no rule against grilling. So we grill, grill, grill and when dinner is all finished and the coals are just right, we roast. We use bamboo skewers over our little Hibachi. They are just long enough to keep our fingers safe while attempting to get the marshmallow close enough to the coals for the perfect roast.
