July 4th -I have more posts below from the last few days

I thought I'd share a few shots from our 4th of July. I wasn't too keen on going out that night. The fireworks weren't scheduled to start until 10:30 or so which was nearly 3 hours past the kids bedtime. But I am a crank about that stuff and lucky for me and the kids, E is not. So we left M with the grandparents and headed to the beach. I am so glad we went. It was a cool clear evening and the aunts and uncles had sparklers for the kids. The show was great but the sunset and fun were better - and I think (selective memory here) the kids slept in the next day.

Another beautiful Michigan sunset

Waiting for a sparkler

  1. As usual, great posts Sarah. Something about this recent trip to MI resonated with me (maybe it's age). The trip was idyllic in so many ways that I really do hope that we get to experience it for many years to come.

C and I were inspired by MI's great outdoors. Since our return, we have been spending some of our afternoons butterfly & dragonfly hunting, looking for insects, we even went to our local lake and practiced casting with our fishing pole!

We have some great memories from this trip including C's awesome 5th b-day party.
